Story
Aniridia Network UK is a support group and charity for people affected by aniridia - which causes a lack of irises (the coloured ring) in the eyes and poor vision from birth.
The Network is run by an unpaid team of volunteers consisting mainly of people with aniridia and their relatives. Funding comes entirely from donations. The team also needs our voices to help raise awareness to the cause.
I attended the AGM with Simon, Jenna and Finlay Butler where we heard how funds that were donated last year have been spent on research projects in the fight for sight and on new exciting events that were arranged to bring this community together.
Why ride my bike from Aberystwyth over the Welsh mountains in the dark, across Shropshire hills, through the Midlands, Northampton, Cambridge all the way to the East Coast for respite in Great Yarmouth?
Because our donations are needed for future projects such as funding Eye Clinic Liaison Officers.
For 1day, 500km of solo cycling (100km further than any ride to date), I believe I deserve to get your attention and help to get these projects funded. Riding on 16th June.
You have the power to make a difference. Please donate now and forward my JustGiving link on, the effort is a combination of raising funds and raising awareness.
Thank you, MH
