Stuart Pollard, Everesting for MIND.

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. Please take just a few minutes to read my story.
Being told your mum has unexpectedly died is devastating, to then learn that it was suicide is a feeling that I can't explain. A rush of emotions and questions. Questions that will never be answered and emotions that I can only learn to live with. That day was 27th May 2019 and its a day that instantly altered my view on life.
I am a keen cyclist, and more recently a runner. Keeping my body in shape and at my physical best has long been a passion of mine. Mum used to joke that I was obsessed, I'd say "no mum, dedicated". My new found respect for the mind though is what really drives me. If I was more aware of the signs, would I be here typing this now? If mum knew who to talk to or how to start that conversation, would things be different? There's the questions again.
My wife, sister and I visited MIND in Somerset and the team there are amazing, I cannot praise them enough. We have been visiting support groups for people bereaved by suicide and they're always welcoming.
So, that's the 'why', this is the 'what'. I have decided to test both my physical AND mental abilities. On Friday 19th and Saturday 20th June 2020 I will be Everesting a local hill, Haldon Hill. Everesting is where you ride up and down a hill continuously until you have climbed the equivalent of Mount Everest, 29'029ft! I will start on Friday at 6pm and will ride through the night and aim to be finished by 4pm on Saturday having completed 78 climbs.
So, back to MIND. They do amazing work and deserve all the money I can raise. They know that having a fit mind is as important as a fit body. So please please, help me to reach my target and donate as much as you can.
If you wish to follow my story through to next May, and are interested in spectating on the day, you can keep up to date on my Facebook page here
