MKL Gaels is a ladies gaelic football club in Mid Kerry providing the girls and ladies from Milltown-Castlemaine, Keel and Listry with the opportunity to play gaelic football since 1999.

We wanted to do something together as a club, involving the sport that we love, that could build awareness of Childlines services and also help them raise some much needed funds.

On 31st May "We're tackling a Solo Challenge for Childline so Children don't have to tackle their Challenges Solo."

1 Million Solos in 1 Day (#1millionsolos) is a lofty target, but the thoughts of helping such a good cause will make it more achievable. 

We are encouraging you to donate solos to build awareness of the cause, by posting a video or photo of yourself on social media with #1millionsolos, and also to donate what you can to Childline via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/1millionsolos

Childlines services are more important now than ever, in March online engagements went up by 25%, at a time when many of their fundraising initiatives have been put on hold. 

Children are turning to Childline online for support as they may not wish to have their conversation overheard at home.

Topics frequently raised include abuse and violence, mental health difficulties and family relationships. Tensions which simmered under the surface in homes across the country up to this point have become more intense than ever before.

Childline relies on donations for 90 per cent of its funding. Public support for this service is vital. 

Without Childline these kids may have nowhere to turn for support!
