Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I began walking seriously in Summer 2022 as a way of losing a little bit of weight and before I knew it I was walking further and further on weekends. I had seen a number of walking challenges for 1,000,000 steps over 3 months, but I wondered whether I could do it in just 30 days.
Rather than just try and do it I decided I would try and use it as a method of raising money and awareness for Menopause research.
The Menopause is something that EVERY woman will experience, with a huge range of potential symptoms and with only a little investigation I quickly discovered just how little is known and how inconsistent diagnosis and treatment is. Its still such a closed subject that is not discussed enough and I would like to do my part in improving awareness and openness around the subject for both women and men because the more that its talked about, the more focus it will get and the better diagnosis and treatment will become.
At The Menopause Charity their mission is to help people understand the mental and physical changes that occur during perimenopause and menopause and provide them with the tools and treatments needed to manage those.
