Jimmy Mayberry a former Cadet Administrative Assistant with 1st (NI)Battalion Army Cadets (ACF), sadly passed away with Meningitis on the 2nd February 2018.  He was involved with the Battalion most of his life, from a cadet in his school years until his retirement from the organisation in 2017. 

He was a keen canoeist and kayaker and as an instructor he encouraged hundred of cadets to take to the water.

As he was so passionate about canoeing the adult instructors from the ACF thought it would be fitting to remember him through the sport.  They organised a paddle along the Bann, from Portglenone Marina to Movanagher canal which they intend to do annually.
