On September the 11th, I will be taking on a multi day cycle ride covering the length of the UK, starting at John O’Groats in Scotland and finishing at Lands End in Cornwall, covering approximately 950 unaided miles in 10 days, camping along the way. 

I am aiming to raise £2000 for the Lingen Davies cancer fund, who provide cancer prevention programmes aswell as equipment and staff for diagnoses, treatment and support to people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales. The money raised will help provide new equipment such as comfortable reclining chairs for the Chemotherapy unit at Shrewsbury Hospital, as patients can spend hours each day receiving treatment and need to be as comfortable as possible.

I’m sure we all know somebody who has been affected by this disease. Having lost my mum to cancer in 2011, I have seen what a difference programmes like this can make to people receiving treatment and hopefully we can all raise awareness and help to boost their funding, which has taken a drastic hit as a result of coronavirus.
