We support bereaved children in Dorset to understand & share their experience

Story

We lost Karl aged 39 this August to metastatic melanoma after an incredibly brave 9 year battle. Alongside our family and friends of course, his son Kaden (8) and niece Evie (6)'s lives changed forever. They are very much like brother and sister, and spent much of their summer holidays in the hospice with Karl and our family. Karl was incredibly special and has left a huge hole in our lives.

We'll be running for
Mosaic to help them to support the many children who face such painful loss, perhaps even without the support of friends and family that we've been so fortunate to have.

So what are we doing? In a nutshell, last November I asked my friends on Facebook if anyone would like to join me in committing to run every day from 1st December to Christmas morning, put a pound in a pot for each run and then donate it on Christmas morning to their chosen charity. I was expecting maybe 5 friends, but ended up with over 100 😍. My brother Karl was undergoing treatment at the time but ran, without fail, every day come rain or shine.

This year we're doing it all over again - but we have over 200 people (and counting) in our amazing virtual team.  Many are local, but some are as far as Singapore, Laos, Australia and New Zealand.

For those who've chosen to support Mosaic, here's a place we can each come and dollop our £25 on Christmas morning after our final run, but of course if you want to stay in the dry but show your support for our efforts, you can add a dollop yourself. Thank you xx
