Story

First off, thanks for taking the time to visit my page! Secondly, would you be so kind to please help me get through this half marathon - which by the way has an incline here and there - by sparing a penny or two for an important cause that's close to my heart, Diabetes UK.

Diabetes affects more people than any other serious health condition in the UK. This needs to change and Diabetes UK works towards this end goal.

There are two types of this disease - type 1 and type 2. I have firsthand experience of seeing what day to day life is like for those who suffer from Type 1 diabetes and it's hugely disruptive. Type 1 diabetes is the type where the pancreas doesn't produce any insulin and at present there is no cure available which means a sufferer has to either 1) self inject insulin multiple times during the day or 2) carry around a pump at all times in order to keep on going, alongside other complications. Researchers don't know what the cause of type 1 is, but it's thought to be as a result of a viral infection or genetic.

I'd love to play a very small part in working towards a cure for diabetes and would really appreciate any donations to keep my little legs motivated to get through those 13.1 miles in my hometown.

Much love,
Olivia, OJ, Juice, whatever takes your fancy! xx
