Assalamualaikum/Greetings, brothers and sisters as you may know the current situation in this world is at a critical point. However, this time has given me an opportunity to reflect on what really matters to me deep down, as may be the case for many others.
After talking with family and friends on ways to help, I have decided to proactively help people in need which has lead me to start a fundraiser for people who are less fortunate all around the world.
The plan is to raise funds for an existing charity organisation which provides food packages for those who have no access to food and drink. The organisation I have chosen to partake with is Islamic Relief and have looked into the organisation and can confirm that,
Yes our admin is just 4p!
For every £1 we spend:
- 87p goes directly into helping people in need
- 4p towards administrative costs
- 9p to raise more funds
For every £1 we use for fundraising, we raise £10 more.
So your donation is almost DOUBLED, Alhamdulillah.
When an emergency strikes, Islamic Relief aims to be the first on the ground, providing emergency relief and helping those affected immediately. When floods, droughts or earthquakes happen, we’re there: providing life-saving food, water, shelter, medicine and other essential items to families who have lost everything.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask you guys for a contribution. So these less fortunate people around the world can have a little hope knowing there is people out there that’s trying to reach out. The thing is, imagine being in a position of hardship, we all have at some point I’m sure. In those times, the kindness of others and the will of Allah pulls us through those difficult times.
So I plead with those that can make a difference, no matter the magnitude to join us in trying to give hope to those who need it most.
Allah says: “And they are those who give food – in spite of their own need, to the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, [saying in their hearts], 'We only feed you for the sake of Allah, and we desire nothing in return from you, not even a word of thanks.'’’ [76:8-9]
Allah, the lord of the worlds, identifies the people of belief to be the ones that give, ‘in spite of their own need’, and this is an important point for us to consider.
