20 Things for 20 Years - Young Lives vs Cancer · 16 February 2022

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

In November 2002 I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and to celebrate still being here 20 years later I have decided to fundraise for Young Lives vs Cancer (formally CLIC Sargent) and Ronald McDonald House Bristol .

Both are brilliant charities who continue to help patients and families through some of the darkest moments in their lives. Thank you in advance to everyone who helps/donates/cheers on/whatever with these 20 things!

Things like a 100 Mile Walk or a Beard Shave traditionally might be sponsored per individual event. However, as my main goal is commemorating the 20 years since my diagnosis, along with (hopefully) raising a great total for these two brilliant causes, I’m not asking for per event sponsorship so as not to put pressure on people’s already stretched budgets.

Confusingly there are two Adam Dempseys (imagine that!!) according to the Teams page, this is the way I had to set it up to allow money to be donated to two charities. Ideally pick whichever page has the lower donations at the time. In the long run when I pay in money raised offline from events etc I'll equal out the donations.

Any contribution to the overall total is greatly appreciated so thank you in advance!

For more information on the events/challenges/things see 20Things.net .
