Story
Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page. Our son Caleb was born 21/04/21. He was diagnosed at birth with Trisomy 21 - more commonly known as Down Syndrome. As we approach his first birthday and our first World Down Syndrome day as a family we have decided we wanted to raise some awareness of Trisomy 21 and give back to a charity which has helped us
In March, Paddy and I will be running 5k a day for 21 days - which is a cumulative total of 210k! We will aim to run every day but have factored in flexibility for sleepless nights and work commitments!!! Keep an eye on our social media to track our progress!
We came across PADS, a UK based online group for New parents when Caleb was 11 days old. I truly underestimated the amazing work this organisation does in terms of advocacy and education. PADS has been our lifeline in validating our thoughts and emotions in the early days through connecting us with others navigating the same journey as a family. We have benefitted from the online training courses but above all PADS has taught us Trisomy 21 is not something to be scared about but celebrated.
Any donation, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated to help PADS continue to support and educate others.
Thanks
Gemma and Paddy
