Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Run completed! Despite a few setbacks and airfield closures, we managed to find a different route in the local area and get our marathons done a little later than planned.

Joe Kelly set the pace with a blistering time of 2h 49m, spurred on by his family coming out to support him. Gary Crane came in with a great effort of 3h 16m, and behind him Matt Whiteley managed to get under his 3.5 hour target with a finishing time of 3h 26m. Leon Roberts and Sweekar Limbu were battling the deteriorating weather conditions and the fading light to achieve their goal of finishing the marathon distance, which they both achieved valiantly with times just over 4h. All runners were very glad to finish their first marathon distance, and Matt was compelled add a birthday 0.8 of a mile to make 27 miles for his 27th birthday on the day.

Thank you so much to every person who has already donated, and please keep sharing this page so that we can raise as much as possible for Katharine House Hospice. Once we can move our legs again we’ll be training for the next one!

On 17th November, five soldiers from 222 Signal Squadron ran in circles for 26.2 miles each around an airfield to show our support for a very important charity local to us in Stafford, Katharine House Hospice.

Caring for and protecting the terminally ill and their loved ones, free of charge, is more important than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic. 222 Signal Squadron want to support the Hospice to help them provide their crucial services for families in need through the most recent national lockdown.
