At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On the 1st of July, I will be attempting, along with Hugh, to break the indoor rowing 24hr lightweight tandem record. I will be raising money for the Alzheimer's Society, because my Gran was diagnosed with vascular dementia around 5 years ago. She, like me, studied at Edinburgh Medical School, and worked in various fields before becoming a GP. She was an amazing artist, with a particular talent for watercolour painting and embroidery.

Our family is heartbroken that the funny, creative, intelligent and loving woman that we knew has been taken away from us by this cruel disease.

Please help me raise money for this wonderful charity so that in the future treatments and cures can be found that mean no other family has to suffer the loss of a loved one because of this terrible condition.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
