A safe home and a fresh start. We deliver supported housing and homeless prevention for young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We support and develop our young people's independent living skills, increasing their positive life chances. Thank you for your support!

Story

Durham Men's Issues Awareness Society is holding a sponsored 'sleep rough for a night' from 12pm on Saturday 28th November to 12pm on Sunday 29th November. This is in order to raise money for Moving On, a fantastic charity that works with 16-25 year olds living in County Durham who face homelessness or housing difficulty and need support to live independently.

Homelessness is an issue that we are all passionate about tackling, and also something that disproportionately affects men, who make up the majority of homeless people in the UK (a study carried out this year by Homeless Link involving 3,355 homeless people found that 71% were men, with some data suggesting the proportion may be even higher).

We will only be allowed warm clothes and a sleeping bag, in order to express solidarity with those who currently/are at risk of sleeping rough.

The precise location for this event is to be announced.

Please donate whatever you can, and thank you for checking out our fundraising page!
