24hr Swim Relay: Lake 32 · 23 September 2023 to 24 September 2023 ·
We are a group of 8 passionate swimmers who are taking on the incredible 24hr Swim Relay at Lake 32 to raise money for Level Water. All of us are passionate about swimming and about giving others to the opportunity to learn to swim and feel the joy that we get from being in the water.
The first splash. Holding your breath. The echoes of laughter. The wet hair. Lifted spirits. The joy of gliding through water. The smile that lasts all day. Swimming is like nothing else. The skills you develop, the confidence you build and the joys you feel are all universal. Yet access to swimming in the UK is not.Level Water use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
For 24hour one of us will be in the water clocking up the distance and every stroke, every kick and every breathe will help Level Water to use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Level Water know that swimming is a great sport for children, but it can be ineffective or unsafe for some with disabilities to learn in mainstream
groups.
Level Water work in partnership with local leisure providers to offer affordable specialist 1:1 or small group swimming lessons to children with disabilities. The aim of their lessons is to teach a child to become independent in the water and help them to join a mainstream class.
One lesson costs just £15, so with a single donation you’ll be giving a child the chance to learn to swim and fall in love with the water, like we have. If you believe in the power of swimming and think everyone should have an opportunity, then please sponsor us.
Thank you
