Story

EDIT* WE DID IT!

Final score 417,765.
8,990 visits, 26,970 darts thrown.
33.5 miles walked. 3/4 of a tonne thrown.
46.48 3 dart average.

HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE!

Is darts a sport? Yes it is.

Can darts players be endurance athletes? Yes they can... and this is how:

What? As big darts fans and local league legends, Dan "The Doc" Thomas & myself, Oliver "The Sheriff" Ladbrooke-Davies will embrace the oche for 24 hours, attempting to break the Guinness World Record of "Highest Score in 24 hours as a pair". The record to break is 400,000. In playing for 24 hours, we estimate that we'll accumulatively throw over 30,000 darts, complete over 70,000 steps and walk over 33 miles (or 54km).

Where? As players for the 'Town Hall Criers' in the Cowbridge Darts League, it's only fitting that we attempt to break the record at our home pub '1 Town Hall Square' in Cowbridge.

When? The attempt will commence on Friday 21st January at 6pm, finishing at 6pm Saturday 22nd January. GWR rules stipulate the the attempt must be strictly documented and the venue must be open to the public, so a special licence has been sought and the pub will be open for the duration. Spectators, cheerleaders and hecklers are all welcome.

Why? But all of this is for a truly great cause, we'll be doing this challenge to raise funds for Prostate Cymru - all support and donations are gratefully received.
