After establishing British and European distance records in 2009 and a new World Record the following year, America’s Trey Shannon raised the bar even higher in 2011 when he drove a distance of 1368.9km (845 miles at New Castle Motorsports Park. Now, after two years in the planning, i'm ready to bring the 24 Hour Karting World Record back to Britain.

For the 2013 attempt I will be using the home of British karting, PFi in Lincolnshire. This summer the circuit hosted the opening round of the CIK/FIA World Kart Championship, I think it’s the perfect venue for me to hit the 1500km mark.

As well as bringing the world record home there is another reasom I am doing this – I’m also raising money and awareness for Cancer Research UK. What I’ll be going through in my 24 hour challenges is nothing compared to what a cancer sufferer has to endure.
