Story
You may recall that last year Angus Jordan, Paul Etchells, Antony Erotocritou and Richard Dunne cycled Cost to Coast over two days (having gone from London to Liverpool the year before). As a result of popular demand to stop inflicting pictures of us in Lycra on you, we are changing disciplines and taking to our feet in an attempt to complete 24 of "Wainwright's Peaks" in the Lakes District, in under 24 hours and we are being joined by Tim Kelly from GCC, who has been busy working out our route.
It will pretty much be a 45 kilometre journey, climbing over 4.5 kilometres of ascent in the process and although we are planning this for July, we will racing against the darkness for certain. To put this in to some kind of perspective, this ascent is about the same as the Matterhorn!
Over the last couple of years many of you have been good enough to sponsor us and with these challenges and others activities from the SII team and we have been able to raise a staggering £11,500 for Isaac's house, which as a small charity, has proven to be a real game changer for them.
Isaac's House has annual costs of £45,000 for food, education, clothing etc which needs to be raised each year, so the money you have previously donated has already made a substantial difference to the children! The money has not only enabled them to do the basics, such as building a water pump to ensure that the orphanages have access to clean water but also to do some more fun things like building a playground including swings, slide and climbing frame to give these kids a real childhood!
This promises to be perhaps our toughest challenge yet. But with you support we'll get through it.
Thank you sponsoring us !
