The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

World Child Cancer’s fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic at a time when it’s work is needed more than ever. Fundraising  events like the London Marathon have been cancelled and the charity faces a significant drop in income which threatens its vital work to support children with cancer in some of the poorest countries in the world, including Cameroon. Glenn is WCC Programme Manager in Cameroon and is currently unable to return home as his country has closed its borders to try and protect a fragile health care system. He is able to continue much of his work and to support his team remotely from our home in Yorkshire. To help keep the household fit in mind and body during lock-down we converted a kitchen table and a plank of wood into an international outdoor table tennis court.

On the 26th April this was the venue for a live sport spectacular as Glenn and Rod  went head to head with in 26 games of non-stop Ping Pong. After a hard fought match, the score at the end of those 26 games was 13 all! A tie break was agreed, and play continued for 5 more weary games. The winner...by the narrowest of margins, was 'Rod of Ripon'! Thanks to all those who have so generously donated so far....it is not too late to do so today!
