Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Slowly coming to terms with the realisation that I am no longer entitled to a young persons railcard, the journey home for Christmas suddenly becomes either very expensive, or a very long run. In order to fully embrace this reality I am celebrating my first 26 years by running 26 miles and my first marathon!
In July I completed the The Dundee Running Adventure Marathon (delightfully abbreviated to DRAM!)
I trained by running half marathons at Bournemouth, Warwick and Edinburgh, didn’t quite reach my fundraising goal, and have had my arm twisted so later this month I will run my fourth, and probably final half marathon of the year in Luton.
So yes, somehow having set myself the challenge of one marathon, I am doing three!
I am raising money and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in memory of Lucy, a school friend who died in 2008. Given the nature of the illness Lucy wasn't much a sports woman but I distinctively remember legging it up Dundee's Reform street with her after mischievous long lunch breaks at school! I know Lucy would have recommended Westlife (!) for any playlist..so I invite you to donate a penny and a running track suggestion to contribute to my running playlist.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Being 26, and running 26 miles I aim to raise £2626 and welcome any support you can offer!
It would be awesome if I could reach my goal for 26 while I am still 26… ( one week to go!)
Thank You,
Marion
