In October, around Maisie’s birthday, a group of us are walking 27km (one kilometre for every year of Maisie’s life) at Monsal Trail to raise money for a charity close to Mais’ heart - Anthony Nolan. 

Maisie is my cousin who earlier this year lost her life in a car accident whilst on her way to work. She was a wonderful person, loved and thought highly of many. She was a Doctor and had not long started her speciality in Obs and Gynae which she loved. 

Whilst at uni, Maisie started raising money for Anthony Nolan which carried on into her career and over the years she managed to help raise over a massive £50,000 and inspire nearly 3,000 people to join the stem cell register. Anthony Nolan have now created the ‘Maisie Ryan Award’ to remember her contribution to the charity.
