On my birthday my friend Elenore challenged me to 55 happy/new experiences in my 55th year (55@55). She made 55% of the suggestions - listen to five new albums, eat in a Michelin starred restaurant, drink champagne in the rain (you get the gist) - she left the rest to me. The family pitched in and Georgia suggested we should plant 55 trees in the National Forest. This is where we're hoping for a little help from our friends. 55 trees will cost £825 (£15 each). So Georgia and I are going to do a sponsored walk - 55 kilometres in a day.
Mindful of Covid restrictions, we'll start and finish the 55k from home.
We plan to do the walk before the end of March. The exact day will be dependent on the weather and my dodgy foot (just getting this in there for some sympathy sponsorship).
If you could sponsor us a few pounds that would be AMAZING. If we don’t reach our target we’ll buy as many trees as we can and think of another way to make up the difference. In the highly unlikely event that we exceed our target, we’ll buy more trees and the world will breathe more easily.
Thank you!
