Bereaved Partners Support Group

This London based charity, founded by Erin Thompson, following the death of her own father from cancer, aims to prevent isolation following the loss of a loved one to cancer, by providing a range of flexible bereavement support services, underpinned by compassion and professionalism.

£1,000 will cover 8 support group sessions in North and South London.

"I spent weeks phoning around London hospitals and bereavement centres but could not access a group like this - that simply brings people together to share their stories of loss in an intimate, informal and accepting context."

£1,000 will support the development this important initiative.

Professor Mike Richards, national Cancer Director, comments "Michele Angelo Petrone's paintings of his cancer journey give a clear insight into the uncertainty, isolation and pain experienced by people with cancer. They also show the importance of the support and care which is given to cancer patients."
