3 Peaks Challenge for Alzheimer's! · 5 June 2010

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Josh and I lost our Nan to Alzheimer's and thought this would be an ideal way to raise money for research into the condition and support for those who have it, whilst giving everyone a laugh at the thought of us climbing up and down mountains for a whole day and night!  There is currently no cure for Alzheimer's disease and 1 in 3 people end their lives with this terminal condition.

We intend to climb from early morning on Saturday 5th June to Sunday 6th, climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales respectively.  This is a continuous 24 hour challenge so the time starts when we begin to climb Ben Nevis and ends when we reach the base of Snowdon.

The walking distance is about 25 miles, climbing over 10,000 feet in total.  We also have to cover 450 miles of travelling between the mountains!

Any donation you could make would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
