We have decided to take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, a feat unheard of for those who know we wouldn't even run for the bus, in order to raise money for the Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust.
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge is a UK trekking challenge, designed to test people's endurance, strength and teamwork. The Peaks includes, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
Roughly translated, 26 miles, 3 peaks, 12 hours!
As many of you are aware, Torie was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer in 2017. One thyroid, a 4cm tumour and 40 lymphnodes later we are fighting this battle and anything that is thrown our way.
Our chosen charity, the Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust is the first national charity in the UK dedicated solely to the support of patients with thyroid cancer. They offer invaluable advice and support for people who have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, from surgery, to the implications of living without a thyroid, to having to have your treatment in complete isolation, the work that they do creates an environment where people do not feel quite so alone.
