Paul Bezzant, Neil Bott, Jansen Carter, Lawrence Copeland, Michael Diffin, Andy French, David Ruddle, Ed Russell, Paul Saunders & Phil Way will be taking in the Fire Service Three Peaks Challenge 2013.(http://www.firefighters3peaks.co.uk).

The challenge commences on the 27th June 2013 with the team starting in Scotland and seeing the team climb Ben Nevis, followed by Scafell Pike in England and finally Snowdon in Wales.

The aim is to complete the three climbs and all driving within 24 hours (gulp). Once completed the team will have walked over 20 miles, ascended more than 10,000 feet, driven over 500 miles, obtained a blister or three, but more importantly and with your help raised as much money as possible for our designated charity!

We have chosen to support Fatboy’s Cancer Charity (Registered Charity 1105129).

Mike ‘Fatboy' Lawless was a serving Police Officer in Swindon. He died in 1999 aged 31 years from Cancer. He had previously worked as a male nurse, at a variety of hospitals including Guy’s Hospital in London. Upon his death, friends and family established ‘Fatboy’s Useful Cancer Charity Account’ (FUCCA) to raise money for Cancer-related causes, and other worthy recipients.

'Fatboys' is a small charity that aims to help children who are suffering from cancer or some other life threatening illness. The main thrust of the charity is geared to wards the purchase of Christmas gifts for children who are suffering with potentially life threatening illnesses. However, donations have also been made to Oncology Units at NHS Hospitals in Bath and Cheltenham, to a Swindon School for the purchase of gymnastic equipment for children with Special Needs, as well as donations made directly to cancer-related charities such as C.A.L.M, C.L.I.C and Macmillan Nurses.

If you look at the Fatboys twitter page you can see that every penny donated really doesmakes a different, please help us smash our £1000 target!
