Could you take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks to help us raise the vital funds needed to support local families living with terminal illnesses and bereavement?

Story

The 3 Peaky Blunderers are:

  • Lorraine & Rob Shuker
  • Katie & John Davis
  • Claire & Scott Rogers
  • Lucy & Ian Clarkson

and we are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks, an iconic 24 miles (38.6km) route with 5200ft (1585m) of climbing in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, including summiting the trio of peaks - Ingleborough (2372ft, 723m), Whernside (2414ft, 736m) and Pen-Y-Ghent (2277ft, 694m) in (hopefully) 12 hours.

We are supporting Saint Michael's Hospice, a charity that supports families living with terminal illnesses and bereavement across the Harrogate District.

Every £1 donated impacts the lives of local families. Below are some ways in which your donations will make a difference:

  • £10 could help provide tasty, home-cooked meals for one patient at our hospice. With life during coronavirus being more restricted, mealtimes have taken on an important focus to the day. Their skilled team work hard to create delicious, nutritious
meals and snacks, tailored to the likes, needs and abilities of the individual
  • £28 could help provide care at home to someone at the end of their life. Since the start of the pandemic, more people than ever need – and want – to be cared for at the end of life in the safety and comfort of their own homes. Their specialist HOME service has seen a significant increase in demand for this expert, personalised care.
  • £50 could help provide telephone-based support for a family experiencing grief during coronavirus with one of their bereavement support specialists. Restrictions mean many people are not able to be with loved ones at the point of their
death, to hold them or say goodbye. Being able to access specialist support at this most difficult of times is vital to allow people to process and manage their grief.
  • £100 could help provide a comprehensive package of resources to support a child or young people with their emotional wellbeing or bereavement during coronavirus. As
face-to-face sessions are not currently possible, they are creating new ways to support children individually - using technology and online resources to help children and young people deal with any emotional challenges they are facing in these strange and unsettling new time

Please also Gift Aid your donation, as Saint Michael's Hospice can claim an extra 25p for every pound donated.

Thank you from all of the 3 Peaky Blunderers!
