Starting on Saturday the 11th of June I will be swimming a marathon swim, that is 10km, in the Sandford Lido every day for 30 days, finishing on the 10th of July. That is a total of 6000 lengths of the historic 50m outdoor pool, 300km of swimming and somewhere in the region of 200,000 strokes of freestyle.  

The aim is to promote and support the Sandford Lido and encourage and hopefully inspire people to get down to their local swimming pools.

I am fundraising for this great community resource to help support them as they try to maintain and update the 80 year old infrastructure. This spring the old boiler packed in costing them £15,000 in repairs and 3 weeks of lost heating at the start of the season. The pool is an amazing community resource and one we need to preserve for future generations of swimmers.
