Story
I am going to be taking part in the 31 mile challenge set by Lupus UK. As a sufferer of lupus, this is a charity that was very close to my mum's heart.
Throughout October, which is Lupus Awareness Month, I will be completing 31 miles by doing the following.
1x 10.5 mile walk
1 x 10.5 mile cycle on an exercise bike
1 x 5 mile run
1 x 5 mile row on rowing machine
For anyone who knows me, you'll know cardio is not my forte and some of this will definitely be a struggle. A minor price to pay for those who suffer with Lupus their whole lives.
Thank you so much in advance for your donations, and I'll keep you up to date with my progress throughout October. I'll be doing this around uni and placement, no rest for the wicked! If anyone would like to join me for any part of the fundraiser, please let me know, the company would be appreciated :)
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where the immune system is dysfunctional and mistakenly identifies the body’s own tissues as foreign invaders. In people with lupus, the immune system creates autoantibodies to attack the body’s tissues. These form immune complexes which cause inflammation and damage – possibly affecting the organs and/or the joints in some lupus patients.
