Story

Thanks for taking time to visit my fundraising page

Talking about Prostate Cancer will save lives - It saved mine.

In December 2022 I went for a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test not knowing I had stage 3 prostate cancer.

So, the message is get yourself tested. Once I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in April 2023 following several tests. Once I got over the initial shock I elected for a laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. This is a robotic removal of my Prostate. The surgery was carried out in May 2023 just 4 weeks following the diagnosis.  The surgery was successful, and I am all clear of my cancer.

What stuck with me was how lucky I was to get tested at that time and that men need to talk about this more openly – the whole journey for my was positive but could have been so different.

I have decided to complete 31 triathlons in 31 days in January 2024 to help raise awareness and get men talking about prostate cancer and getting them tested.  I have already had 2 friends test positive for prostate cancer who have said to me that if I hadn’t been open about my journey that would not have been aware they too had cancer. It gets me very emotional to think this is saving someone’s Dad, Brother, Uncle.

Please support me during this challenge by sharing my videos and donating when you can.

Thanks you.
