A HUGE thanks to every beautiful soul for taking your time to visit my JustGiving page :)
As my 32nd birthday is approaching, I feel the need of giving instead of receiving, it will be NO BIRTHDAY GIFTS this year :)
I was born in a small village called Nondindaeng, Buriram. It's in a remote area in the North-east of Thailand where education is neglected and hardly be developed. At a very young age, I was very keen on studying but my school wasn't well equipped as well as the teachers.
I remembered I had always wanted to study in a big city where a higher standard of teaching is provided and a better learning equipment and additional learning resources are easily accessed. Luckily, my family's financial was a bit better, so I moved and settled in a big beautiful city called Chonburi where I passed the entry test and got into the 3rd place of the whole class year!
I continued my higher education in university, I got in university in the faculty which I desired but wasn't my first choice of university. Sad to say that my second choice university was far more expensive than what my family could support as it was one of the most recognised university in the north of Thailand. I then managed to get into public university in Bangkok where I graduated my BA in Tourism.
Months after I completed my BA, I had an incredible luck to move to the UK!!! That was like a dream for a girl who was born in a remote area really.
Sadly, not everyone is that lucky like me or like you, I know that massive of children in some countries are unable to attend school because their country has been greatly suffered like Cambodia. More than 30 years of civil war and turmoil during which an estimated 1.7 million Cambodians (over 20% of the population) died from starvation, disease or execution. This has left a population traumatised and desperately poor.
Let's use this occasion to help them for a free basic education, the children who live in rural areas where there is very limited access to government services including health and education. Many depend heavily on their land for survival, though rice yields are often very low, hence most households barely produce enough to eat.
I am getting older so, believe me, I don't need any gifts ;)
but Please GIVE by donating, let's support those children who live in remote and neglected areas in one of the world poorest countries to have access to an education.
It would love to be your charity of choice :D

About United World Schools
WHO WE ARE:
United World Schools develops schools in marginalised, post-conflict and remote communities in South Asia. Since 2008, we have reached over 18,000 children. Over the coming years, we aim to scale up our school development projects to give educational opportunities to 50,000 children.
OUR MODEL:
UWS has been supporting communities with a primary education since 2008. Our approach is straightforward:
We provide education where it is most needed. We build and sustain schools in highly remote areas where children are beyond the reach of the national system. Our model is locally-contextualised and follows national curriculum requirements. Teachers are trained and supported to implement educational programmes that are locally-anchored, protecting indigenous languages, cultures and customs.
Our projects are sustainable. UWS schools are constructed with the buy-in and support of the local community and education authorities. The UWS team provides on-going teacher training, local capacity building, educational materials and support for the community until the school is self-sustaining and we are confident in the local authority’s ability to maintain it.
Our approach is holistic. Whilst our focus is on primary education, we provide communities with safe drinking water as well as health and sanitation education to support children’s ongoing welfare and learning potential. We also ensure gender equality in all our schools by working in close partnership with the local community.
Our work is efficient, cost-effective and high-impact. We build schools for 150-200 children for $ 30,000. It subsequently costs $1 per child per week to run a school.
