33 for the 33

33 for the 33 · 18 August 2021
According to statistics, 32.2 people die from a brain tumour every day. This shocking statistic affects more adults than children but the statistics also include children. Around 12,000 adults and 500 children are diagnosed with a brain tumour a year and unfortunately, adults only have 11% chance of surviving more than 5 years with a brain tumour.
On the 33rd week of the year I am asking for everyone to raise money for 3 charities, Brain Research UK, Brain Tumour Research and Epilepsy Research UK to help increase the funding into the research into the biggest Cancer killer of under 40s. Only 3% of cancer funding is spent on this disease so they are in need of funding to try and save lives.
So what am I doing on the 33rd week?
Starting August 18th 2021, I ask you to get active and do a challenge surrounding the number 33. You can run, walk, ride, row 33 miles or do yoga for 33 minutes everyday that week; it's entirely up to you.
How do I take part?
