Starting at midnight on the 9th of October 2021, myself and Harvey Rickett are intending to climb Pen Y Fan, in Wales, as many times as possible in 36 hours whilst carrying 51lbs (23kg). The challenge will see us cover 5 miles per ascent and descent, with each climb being approximately 446m of elevation.

Our minimum target is 12 times (1 attempt every 3 hours), which would accumulate a total of 60 miles and over 5000m of elevation - over half the height of Mt. Everest. 

I have decided to do this challenge to raise money for Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind, who provide advice and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem and who campaign to raise awareness, improve services and promote understanding. Since the start of the pandemic, it is reported that 1 in 5 adults have reported some form of mental health issue, a statistic that has since doubled since the outbreak of COVID-19. The money that Mind raises ensures that those who are suffering can get the help and support that they need before it's too late.
