£365 for 365 days alcohol free/ EITC Bike-ride - 408 km - (Leeds & Liverpool Canal) · 11 August 2018

Everton in the Community is one of the UK's top sporting charities and firmly established on the world stage of community sports development. As the Blues' official charity it is considered one of the Premier League’s leading community schemes due to the quality and reach of its programmes.

Story

I’m edevouring to raise funds for EITC by cycling the length of the Leeds and Liverpool canal (204 kilometres).

This year I am aiming to raise £365 for 365 days without drinking (I'm already six months down!) to help continue the amazing work that Everton in the Community does through their plethora of community and social inclusion projects.  EITC work with armed forces veterans, young people, elderly people, vulnerable people, those struggling with mental health problems, homeless people, people with disabilities; basically anybody EITC can help they do help, completely free of charge.

The Liverpool Echo reports that, 'EitC improves the lives of 20,000 people every year and supports more than 1,100 children through school sports programmes.

More than 1,000 residents have also been helped back into work thanks to their employment support.'

It is notable that EITC have a bigger footprint on Merseyside than Tesco, an achievement in itself.  In recognition of over thirty years service to the people of Merseyside and further afield, Everton in the Community received the Freedom of the City - Liverpool’s highest civic honour, on the 6th May 2018.

I have already contributed £65 towards the £365 fundraising goal, so already there is only £300 left to raise.  Therefore, only thirty people need to donate £10 each to reach our target, but of course any contribution to this fantastic cause is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your support!
