39 Sqn RAF 1000 mile Iron Butt Ride · 12 November 2019

Story

On November 13th 2019, 5 members of 39 Sqn RAF based
at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada will ride 1000 miles in order to raise money and awareness for the Folded Flag Foundation.

The ride will be based on Iron Butt UK’s long
endurance ride, where riders choose from one of six routes and cover 1000 miles in under 24 hours.

With 39 Sqn being based in the United States, a route was chosen which will see riders endure a 1000 mile round-trip between Las Vegas, Phoenix and San Diego, returning to Las Vegas less than 24 hours
after their initial departure.

39 Sqn is committed to giving back to the local and military community that has welcomed and supported Sqn members and their families since it's re-formation at Creech Air Force Base in 2007. As such, money will be raised for the Sqn’s supported charity for 2019, The Folded Flag Foundation, which supports the families of fallen US Service Personnel.

The Folded Flag Foundation mission is to provide educational scholarships and support grants to the spouses and children
of the United States military and government personnel who died as a result of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated for this admirable organisation, which supports the family members of US Service Personnel tragically killed in action.
