So it been 2 1/2 years since we lost our dad and we are doing something in his memory once again to honour him and raise money for such a great cause that helped him through some tough times, as well as helping others that are close to me.
This year’s challenge is yet again a step up. We will be doing the 3 Lake kayak challenge in the Lake District, with a couple of bolt ons for good measure.
WHAT IS THE 3 LAKES CHALLENGE?
It is the ultimate lake-based kayaking challenge. Based in the Lake District, we will take on three of England's longest and most beautiful lakes - Coniston water, Windermere and Ullswater. The challenge is to kayak each of them, totalling 35km by sea kayak in under 12 hours.
We will then ride via mountain bike to Scarfell Pyke of which is 32miles and is half hilly roads and half off road tracks through the mountains. This should take us 5 hours.
Finally we will climb Scarfell Pyke of which in our state at that time physically and also mentally from lack of sleep, will more than likely take us 4 hours plus
There is some travelling between lakes, and so we expect this to take us in total 22hours, but will aim for 20.
