British 3 Peaks in 24 Hours page

Ty Olwen Palliative Care Service is a charity that supports patients and their families who are suffering from cancer & life limiting diseases by the provision of amenities, equipment, services and facilities not normally provided by the NHS.
We witnessed at first hand exactly how special Ty Olwen and it’s amazing staff are. On January 12th 2017, our close friend Kristian lost his bravely fought battle to Sarcoma in Ty Olwen Care Home, with his family and close friends by his side. We cannot thank the staff in Ty Olwen enough for everything they have done for us through the final moments of Kristian’s life. The staff gave everything to carry out the wishes of Kris, his family and friends, and to ensure that our final moments together were special.
After everything they have done for Kris, his family and his friends, we feel we owe it to this amazing charity to raise some funds to continue the incredible work it does.
On Saturday June 29th, Coley, Sean, Moritz & Dom will be attempting the British 3 Peaks Challenge in 24 hours.
We set off on our challenge at the bottom of Ben Nevis in Scotland at 6am on Saturday 29th. Ben Nevis is the tallest mountain in Britain, measuring 4,413ft to the peak. It should take us approximately 5 hours to get to the peak and back down to the foot of the mountain.
We then leave Ben Nevis to drive 6 hours to our next peak, Scafell Pike which is the highest mountain in England measuring 3,209ft. We estimate it will take 4 hours to the get to the peak and back to the bottom.
Once finished, we drive 5 hours to get to Snowdon in North Wales. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, and measures 3,560ft. The climb will take us 4 hours up and down, and we hope to have completed our challenge by 6am on Sunday 30th June.
We have fundraised for Ty Olwen in memory of Kristian on numerous occasions, so understand that there are only so many times you can ask the same people to donate. However, we have decided to set up a JustGiving page as any amount of money raised will go towards making a difference, it all adds up! If you’d like to donate to an amazing charity that helps so many patients and their families, we would be massively grateful.
Another fundraising event for Ty Olwen- a 5 a side football tournament is being held in Memory of Kris at Pontardawe Rugby Club on Saturday 20th July 2019. Every penny raised on the day will be donated to Ty Olwen Palliative Care Home! If you would like to get involved, please contact Sam Bishop on 07398 208885, or email Dom.thomas@hotmail.co.uk.
