I don’t think there is a family in Derry that hasn’t been affected by cancer or lost someone to it - sadly, we have now lost three members of our family, our Daddy, Jim, our sister, Angela, and, just last year, our sister, Marie. Marie died in April, during the first lockdown, in the middle of a pandemic. However, Marie Curie nurses and carers allowed us to nurse her at home, where she passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of all her family. Throughout the challenges of COVID, they treated our sister and the family with such sensitivity and genuine care, it made it that bit easier to face one of the hardest times of our lives. For that, we will be forever grateful. The only way we can show that thanks is by making donations every year in the memory of our much-loved sister, Marie. For all those who have lost loved ones to cancer...you understand the work Marie Curie does. Let’s help them to keep on helping others.
