Story

We are 3 best friends who are going to run/walk/cycle a marathon over the weekend of 31/7-1/8 together to raise funds for Macmillan.  Cancer has affected all 3 of us in different ways.

Please read our stories below:

My name is Jenna, I’m the tall one,  and I've always wanted to give back to Macmillan for the way they helped my mum. In 2014 , I was only 7 years old, and my mum told me that she needed to have some medication that would make her hair fall out and she would look a little different, but only as I grew older did I realise about cancer. The Macmillan nurses helped and supported my mum. It is now 7 years since mum was diagnosed and she is cancer free and made me who I am today. I know people with cancer need the same care from Macmillan too to make them feel better. This is why I want to give back and run/walk/cycle a marathon for Macmillan.

My name is Coryn, I’m the short one, when my Nana was diagnosed with Colon cancer I never realised how much cancer affects not only the person but the family too until it happened to my family.  I would like to raise money for Macmillan to help other families who need the help and support that is so vital and Macmillan provide, you never know when you’re going to need it! This is why I want to give back and run/walk/cycle a marathon for Macmillan.

My names Isobel, I’m the middle size one, and I’m running and cycling a marathon to raise money for Macmillan. In 2014 my Grandma sadly lost her battle to liver cancer after having previously fought breast cancer. Macmillan help people like my Grandma every day and support them so they’re not alone. That’s why I’m fundraising for Macmillan so they can continue to help others. This is why I want to give back and run/walk/cycle a marathon for Macmillan
