Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving Page.

On the 17th July 2015 Joe Robson and myself (Nick Robinson) with the support of our friends Chris Morfoot,Amanda Lewitt,Laura and Daz Wylie will be setting off from Edinburgh Castle and cycling down the East side of the country to Tower Bridge London, where we will turn round and ride back to Edinburgh Castle.

We have set a challenge to complete the 1400km (870miles) in 3 days which is going to be very tough as we’ll need to ride 300miles each day!

We are doing this challenge to raise money to support the Special Care Baby Unit at West Cumberland Hospital.

The unit is close to Joe’s heart as his twin girls had to go into the unit for specialist care shortly after they were born.

This was a hard time for Joe and his wife. The support of the staff in the special care unit, the maternity unit, the midwives, nurses, doctors and so many more people connected to the maternity unit helped the family come through this tough time.

The Staff that work there are amazing, and do a fantastic job. Now with the threat of maternity unit moving to Carlisle we hope to aid the great work that has been carried out so far in the supporting of keeping the maternity unit in Whitehaven, where it is needed by all the local towns and villages within in this area.

It is such a vital unit which saves and cares for many lives, and what’s more it’s on our door step here in Whitehaven!

We would love to have you on board with us to support Joe and I in whatever way you can no matter how small, every little helps.

Also a big thanks has to go to all our Friends who will be  acting as the support team on this challenge, they will be looking after the bikes and keeping us topped up with food and drinks for the duration of the ride which is a challenge in its self.

Please donate as much as you can for this local unit which saves many little lives.

 Thank You.
