We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

This just giving page has been set up in loving memory of my beautiful daughter Mia.

Mia sadly passed away due to a brain tumour on 21st November 2020 at the age of 6.

My daughter was my life, she was the best part of me and forever will be. I am taking on this challenge to raise as much money as possible to help Brain Tumour Research in the hope that other families will not have to go through the same pain and suffering.

I will be partaking in the 3 Peak Challenge in June, climbing the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales within 36hours.

I will be travelling up to Scotland and starting my climb up Ben Nevis (1,345m) at 11am on Saturday 19th June. I aim to be down by 7pm to travel to the Lake District to start my climb up Scarfel Pike (978m) at 4am. We aim to finish this climb at 9am Sunday and then travel to Wales to finish our 3 peak challenge by climbing up Snowdon (1,085m), accompanied by the rest of my family and friends.

I will be doing the whole challenge with Matt Dyke, Craig Hankins, Dave Lawrence, Barry Smith and Carly Smith who have kindly offered to take this on with me.

The final climb will be completed on Fathers Day and I can't think of a better day to complete this challenge in honour of my beautiful daughter.

I know she will be with me, willing me on throughout 💜

As always all of your support is greatly appreciated. If you would like to see any of our other events please click on the team page for Miles for Mia and if you would like to get involved please contact Laura.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
