Story

"The Huntington's Disease Association supports anyone who is affected by Huntington's disease across England and Wales. They pursue the best possible care; provide training & advice to families and professionals; raise awareness, and promote research towards better treatment and care."

Huntington’s disease is an illness caused by a faulty gene in your DNA that affects your body’s nervous system. If a parent has the gene, there's a 50% chance of their children developing the condition. This can cause changes with movement, learning, thinking and emotions. Once symptoms begin, the disease gradually progresses and is usually fatal after a period of 10-20 years.

The four of us had been looking for a new challenge and way to raise money after completing the Ten Tors 45-mile challenge together in 2019. The National 3 Peaks is highly renowned and to complete it (within 24 hours) would be a huge accomplishment. This is an incredible charity that does great work across the country and is close to our hearts. Any donations would be greatly appreciated xx
