We provide comfort to bereaved parents to make a devastating time a little gentler

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 18th September, Eddie, Gaz, Jonathan and John will be
tackling the 3 peaks pub crawl.

This involves climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis
and cycling the 500 miles or so between visiting the highest pubs in Wales (Sportsmans Arms), England (Tan Hill Inn) and Scotland (Wanlockhead Inn) along the way.

As a team we have tackled a few tough challenges over the
years including cycling Tower to Tower (Blackpool to Paris) in five days and the Alternative Triathlon, which included kayaking the length of Windermere, cycling to London and running the London Marathon but its been six years since our last adventure.

Friends of Serenity offer a little ray of light for those who have given birth to sleeping angels. One area they offer support is through memory boxes.

Sadly we have experienced these wonderful boxes back in June
2019 when our baby Wallace was born sleeping and again in April 2020 when we lost another angel to miscarriage. That year was so difficult as we were alone without any support from our wonderful friends and family due to Coronavirus but knowing Friends of Serenity were there and being able to speak to others in similar situations at least gave some comfort.

About the charity

Friends of Serenity aims to preserve and protect the health of sick pregnant women and those who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death in particular but not exclusively by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, Serenity Suites and equipment at East Lancashire Women and New Born Centre not normally provided by the statutory authorities. We work hard to support newly bereaved parents through the provision of memory boxes and miscarriage keepsakes. By dressing their babies we hope to make distressing and devastating time a little more comforting by taking the pressure off them. These are provided in East Lancashire and throughout the country on public requirement. Additionally, we strive to provide qualified information by any means appropriate on the 2nd most common chromosome disorder Trisomy 13.
