Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
There is an 3 Peaks Challenge happening on the weekend of May 19th-21st 2017.
Amongst the brave (or daring!) participants are 5 deaf people - Russell Silsbury-Basey, Alison Wherry-Alimo, John Mancini, Mark Pickford and Peter Ferrige, who will embark on National Three Peaks Challenge which involve climbing the highest peak in Scotland (Ben Nevis 1345m), England (Scafell Pike 978m) and Wales (Snowdonia 1085m) totalling a horizontal distance of 42km (26 miles) and 3000 vertical metres.
That's not all - it all will be done in 24 hours and is not for the faint hearted. We will all be doing this with a lot of preparations, including some 6-8h walks, on top of the fundraising activities that we will need to do to raise a minimum of £600 each. You'll see our team fundraising page below (https://www.justgiving.com/teams/3PeaksBristolDeaf). Your donation can really help us smash this goal.
We've joined together to raise money for charity - GDA (Gloucester Deaf Association), who offers specialist services and community activities to D/deaf and hard of hearing children and adults in Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire. They work to provide practical and emotional support that focuses on improving quality of life, independence and social inclusion.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
