Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in memory of Barbara Broomhead

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), is a type of obstructive lung diesease characterised by chronically poor airflow. It typically worsens over time. There is currently no cure but the British Lung Foundation are working on this.
Barbara was diagnosed with severe COPD in July 2012. She became dependant on oxygen. This lead to heart problems and she sadly passed away on 19 January 2014. She was an amazing wife, mother, nana and so much more. She is incredibly missed .
On 28th August 2016, David (son), Tracy (daughter), Karen (daughter in law), Kim (family friend) and Helen (family friend) will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. The walk is 24.5 miles (39.2km) long and takes in approximately 5,000 feet (1,600 metres) of climbing. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
