When Jane & Sally's mum Carol was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor in 2007 we didn't really think about hospice care. Dad was determined he could look after mum on his own. As time went by mum became a regular visitor at Havens Hospices Day Care. She really enjoyed her days there joining in with craft making, having her nails painted and chatting. It also gave dad some respite from being her carer. Sadly in time she was admitted into the inpatient unit where she passed away on 12th September 2008. Dad was able to stay in her room with her 24 hours a day during her stay and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful nurses who cared for mum, even bringing the family toast in her bedroom at 5.am on her final day. 

So it's time to do something amazing to give something back to the charity that made such a terrible time in our lives just a little bit easier to bear. Although Mike has run a marathon before it will be Jane & Sally's first time. Please sponsor us and help us make all the miles count x
