Seven Triathlons, Seven Days

Seven Triathlons, Seven Days · 26 September 2020
In what has been a very strange year for everyone, the four of us have decided to take part in a unique endurance event in order to raise funds for Jigsaw Youth Mental Health Services.
Jigsaw offers mental health services to young people in Ireland aged between 12 and 25. Its primary goal is to promote youth mental health, and bring it to the forefront of all our lives, as well as offering community and one to one services, for those who need it. Since April 2019, over 150,000 people have accessed online supports from their website, and nearly 30,000 appointments have been offered through the service.
The charity is in part funded via Government supports, but they desperately need greater support in order to provide online, and in person services for those who need it most.
An Olympic Triathlon entails a 1500 metre swim, a 40 km cycle followed by a 10km run and normally takes place as a single day event. We have decided to up the ante by attempting to complete seven distance events over seven consecutive days, from September 26th to October 2nd.
In doing this, we hope to alleviate some of the stigma associated with mental health and highlight the importance for you all to check in with friends and family, particularly with everything that is going on.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving . Once you donate all funds are sent directly to the charity itself.
Any donation, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, and keep the head up,
David, Colm, Matthew and Conor.
