Edinburgh to London · 6 June 2015

We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Two years ago Joe, Mark and myself cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats in six and half days. This time around, with new recruit Jose, we wanted a new challenge, and decided to find a new way of pushing ourselves to the limit. I'm sure alcohol was involved when I came up with this...

Edinburgh Waverly Station, to London Kings Cross. The famous East Coast Mainline. For the price of a train ticket you can get between the two in less than six hours in calm, air-conditioned comfort. There's even a trolley buffet.

So it seemed like a good idea to cycle between the two. North to South naturally, as everyone knows that's downhill. 430 miles, setting off bright and early on Saturday morning, and hoping to arrive in London Sunday afternoon. We will be cycling through the night, stopping only for food, water and.... comfort. We have never attempted anything quite like this, and we fully anticipate pushing ourselves to our physical and mental limits.

Which brings me to my next point, the mental health charity, MIND. Mental health issues will affect every one of us during our lives, and we have decided to raise money to support this great charity. Any donations will be gladly received, as will messages of support and encouragement!

There is a rumour going around that I will wax my legs if I reach my target of £500...

It all begins on the 6th of June, and I'll be updating this page over the next few weeks. Bring it on!

Oh, and this would seem a good time to mention that Mark cycles without saddle on his bike, and will be cycling the 430 miles standing all the way....
