Story
Dear All,
Thank you for taking the time to have a look at why we are raising this money, and how we are planning to do it.
Between the 7th - 8th August 2020 my Dad, Robert Waite, is going to be running 4 miles every 4 hours, for 48 hours in heats of 40 + degrees.
This will be in aid of Combat Stress, a charity that provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service. Combat Stress focus on those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression and other complex mental health issues.
We now have a newcomer to the challenge, Darren Gosling. Darren is a work colleague and friend of Rob and he has chosen to join Rob in completing this challenge, having heard what he is doing and helping him to push his fundraising.
In Darren’s own words ‘Rob is running for combat stress, by himself this could be very lonely. I did not want to let Rob do this on his own and felt I needed to stand up and support him. Though we will initially run on our own, I hope to join him at the end to complete and support each other together.’
"Because brothers and sisters don't let each other wander in the dark alone".
