Story

 Hello Friends and Family,

This is my latest venture on my bike. This year I'm heading for home...Abbeyleix, Co Laois. On the 18th August, 2015, Gardai from Wicklow, friends and I will cycle from Wicklow Town westwards to Abbeyleix and return back to Wicklow in one day. A total of 256Km will be cycled. I am raising money for a Charity very close to my heart, the Irish Kidney Association. The 18th August, 2015 marks the 25th Anniversary of my Father Michael, who suffered from chronic Kidney Failure. A Garda stationed in Abbeyleix, Co Laois between 1964 and 1990, he fundraised for the IKA through the Laois Section and An Garda Siochana. Unfortunately, he did not benefit from the miracle of a Transplant but many do and I want to raise awareness of the importance of carrying a donor card. If you wish to donate follow the link below. Equally important if you don't have a donor card take the time out to go to the Irish Kidney Association Page and get one.

About the charity

We work to meet the needs of people and their families living with and affected by end-stage kidney disease, on dialysis and post-transplant. From valuable donations and fundraisers we can provide services such as counselling, financial aid, the use of a patient support centre and patient holidays.
